So, I took some vacation time from JPL, and guess what I’m doing with it…

…well, here I am in beautiful downtown Palm Springs. It’s 8:00 in the morning, and the temperature is already in the 90’s. Triple digit highs all week long – but that didn’t stop us from pulling together an amazing production of “Always… Patsy Cline” in a very well air-conditioned tent called the Pavilion Theater right in the heart of downtown. The show opened last night to a three-curtain call, standing ovation. Sally Struthers is incredible, as usual, and Julie Johnson’s voice is perfect. If you have the chance, and can brave the trek across the desert, please come and see this wonderful show.

Shows are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from June 16^th through July 3^rdat the Palm Springs Pavilion Theater. This show is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer. It is based on a true story about Cline's friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, played by Sally Struthers. In addition to the two female leads, there is a five-piece band. This is the fourth time I have appeared in this play, and the second time with Sally Struthers. John Randal has been the musical director each time, and the show is a lot of fun. I’ve been having some technical difficulty with my communications while I’m here. Internet is spotty, and my cell-phone crashed, so I’ve been kind-a out of touch. So all y’all need to come out here and say hello in person, and enjoy the show.
