Mark Indictor's Upcoming Appearances
as of Friday, October 1, 2004

Hello again everyone. ItÕs October already. I actually saw Christmas trees and decorations on display at MacyÕs LAST weekend! The war is raging, the debates are on, the JPL fiscal year is over, and still there is music.

The Border Radio performance at the Bean Town Coffee house in Sierra Madre was great. A good room, good coffee and eats, with lots of old fans, and a few new ones. The gig at ColeÕs in Downtown L.A. with I See Hawks in L.A. went well too. The room is so live that the whole band plays and sings into a single microphone, and everything is completely acoustic. Very cool vibe! I See Hawks in L.A.  is a great band, and I highly recommend that you check them out. Unfortunately, Brantley Kearns, their fiddle player, was conspicuously absent from that show on Wednesday night. IÕve known Brantley for 30 years, and he is one of the finest fiddle players around, not to mention a wonderful human being. He is suffering from a pinched nerve in his neck that is preventing him from playing. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to not be able to play. So I would like to ask everyone who reads this to say a special prayer for Brantley. Please, send Brantley some healing energy, and help him get his music back.

As usual, the Saint Monica's Church Octoberfair was tremendous fun. Hot Lips & Fingertips played a couple of lively sets, lots of dancing and merry-making. A wonderful time was had by all. Great chili and Martinis too!

If you can get up to the Ventura area next weekend, donÕt miss The Ventura Seaside Highland Games. Lots of Tartan, Haggis, and Kilts. I will be appearing with one of my favorite Celtic Rock bands, MacLear. We will be having a set of rare performances centered on the weekend of October 8th, 9th, and 10th. We will be performing throughout the day Saturday and Sunday at the games, and on Friday and Saturday evenings at a local pub. IÕll send out a special newsletter next week as soon as I know our actual performance schedule, and in which pubs weÕll be hanging out during the evenings.

HL&FT will be playing again on November 12th at one of our favorite local music venues, Boulevard Music, Make sure to call and make reservations. It is a very intimate show -- the place has only 100 seats, and tickets sell out fast.

DonÕt forget to check out Border RadioÕs upcoming gigs. This band is just keeps getting better. Keep an eye out here for new gigs as they get booked. WeÕre trying to come up with a name for the kind of music we play. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Just email your ideas to mark@border-radio.com.

Gotta get back to work now. Have a great October, and please come hear one or two of these gigs. It would be so nice to see you there.

See you at the gig!

All the best,

Mark Indictor
