I canÕt believe itÕs
September already. This has been an incredible summer of music for me, and itÕs
not over yet!
Some of the highlights of the next couple of weeks include a rare and wonderful night of Celtic music at the John Anson Ford Theater on Friday, September 10th, with one of my favorite Celtic ensembles, Solas. I will have the honor of participating with Ken O'Malley as he kicks off the evening with his innovative band, The Twilight Lords.
Hot Lips and Fingertips is having a banner year this year. We have had some terrific gigs both in Northern California opening for the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra at the ŅFestival on the Green,Ó as well as in Southern California, headlining one of the Culver City Summer Nights concerts at the Culver City City Hall. I am thrilled to be able to say that we will be appearing again later this month at the Saint Monica's Church Octoberfair in Santa Monica on September 24th, and again next month at one of our favorite local music venues, Boulevard Music. Make sure to call and make reservations. The place has only 100 seats, and tickets sell out fast.
Finally, some of you may have noticed an increasing number of gigs with Border Radio appearing on my schedule. This is a trend that I am hoping continues. Border Radio is a musical breath of fresh air, combining fine songwriting, beautiful vocals, old-time cowboy music and excellent musicianship into a musical group that elevates the spirit. I am very happy to be a new part of this band, and I hope many of you who have not already had the pleasure of experiencing them will come to one of our numerous upcoming performances and check us out!
Thank you all for subscribing to my little newsletter. And donÕt forget, between mailings of the FiddleMan Mailing List, you can always check the very latest schedule updates at MarkÕs Gig List.
See you at the gig!
All the best,
Mark
