ItÕs the last day of November. Yet another year is
threatening to end, and Christmas began before Halloween this year. No one
actually died due to greed on Black Friday this year, though several were
injured, and I personally saw one lose their wig on the John Stewart show. Gotta love that!
I would just like to thank all of you who made it to
the Hot Lips & Fingertips 30th Anniversary Bash in September. It
was a great show, and many of our loyal fans made it that way. It was fantastic
seeing people from those heady days of OÕMahonyÕs. My
only regret is that we played ŅThe
By the way, I havenÕt had the time to post the new Hot
Lips & Fingertips CD, ŅLive from OÕMahonyÕsÓ on
our web site. So, if you would like a copy, please email me directly Š and IÕll
try to get the orders filled. TheyÕre $15.00 each.
At the end of October, I spent a couple of weeks
eating, drinking, driving, walking, and relaxing in
Well, enough of the past, letÕs talk about the future.
My last show of 2005 is this weekend.
Border Radio is playing this
Saturday night on one of our favorite stages; The Coffee Gallery Backstage. See the
schedule section below for address and times. Come on down and say hello and
enjoy the music. WeÕve been playing with a single microphone (actually two) instead
of amplifiers and separate microphones and direct boxes for each of us. ItÕs
simpler, much more fun, and it sounds GREAT! Just like the old days of live
music. Think of the Grand Ole Opry and ŅOh Brother,
Where Art Thou?Ó
In closing, I hope everyone is having a wonderful and
loving holiday season. ItÕs been a rough year for the world, and it doesnÕt
seem like it is going to get a lot better any time soon. I pray that human
beings have the presence of mind to step back from their day-to-day to view the
bigger picture; to understand that what is important is not the things you
accumulate or the name of the power in which you place your faith, but each one
of our personal choices and the actions we take every day we live. It is our
kindness, our smile, our helping hand and willingness to listen and to understand.
It is the strength and selflessness to place the welfare of others above our
own personal desires. It is not only having a roof over your head and enough to
eat, it is making it our own responsibility to make sure that no one in the
world goes hungry or unsheltered.
It is our humanity that makes us human, and music
helps a lot!
Happy holidays to everyone.
See
you at the gig.

ŅBorder Radio is far more than four excellent musicians on a
stage doing their stuff. They are quintessential performers using variety and
pace to deliver their material, an artful mix of swing, traditional folk and
30s/ 40s pop. Our audience loved them. We'll have them back.Ó
