December
is here! Where has this year gone?
The Hot Lips and Fingertips concert at Boulevard Music was a blast. We saw many of our beloved and loyal fans from our days in the Ô70s at OÕMahoneyÕs Irish Whip in Santa Monica, and made some new friends as well. To those of you who just signed up to be on the FriendsOfHLFT and/or the FiddleMan mailing lists, welcome, and thank you for your support!
Well, I have some bad news. Regrettably, the Border Radio CD will not be ready in time for the December 18th date of our proposed CD release party at Viva Cantina, so we will have to POSTPONE that one until next year. I will be letting everyone know when that will be just as soon as we get a firm ship-date for the new Live CD. ItÕs a great one, and weÕre gonna celebrate. We canÕt wait!
On the gig-front, December is looking slim-to-none. IÕve got some recording sessions, and some holiday parties to attend, but nothing that I can invite my friends to. IÕm sorry. If something comes up at the last minute, IÕll send out an emergency, supplemental FiddleMan issue and let you know about it. Stay tunedÉ
Turning the corner of the New Year, please remember to mark down January 22, 2005 on your calendars. Border Radio will be back in Altadena at Bob Stain's Coffee Gallery Backstage on that date. And don't forget, Kelly usually bakes yummy pies for the Coffee Gallery concerts, and raffles a couple off at the show! WeÕre working on some brand new material too. It will be a great show.
A bunch of potential new dates popping up for 2005. Nothing finalized yet, but keep your eyes on this space for updates as they become available!
So, have a very wonderful holiday season. Practice senseless acts of kindness whenever possible. DonÕt believe the reviewers -- go see ŌPolar ExpressĶ, especially if you are up for a good, sentimental cry and are a fan of holiday favorites like Frank CapraÕs ŌItÕs a Wonderful LifeĶ. Besides, the performance capture animation is breathtaking, and who doesnÕt like Tom Hanks?
See you at the gig.
Peace.
